Stunning scenery...
The town of Galera, with numerous cave houses perched on the hills above, has plenty of Bars many serving free tapas with drinks. There are also Supermarkets, Banks, a Post Office, Doctors Surgery, Iron Mongers, Town Hall, Chemist, Paper Shop, Museum, Gift Shop, etc... Galera is a very easy 5 min drive away from La Alqueria.
Market day is on Wednesday in Galera, in the main square by the Church and is well worth a visit.

Just outside Galera is a fabulous restaurant -El Parador- where you can choose from a good selection of tempting dishes, many cooked on the wonderful indoor Oak Wood BBQ!
The larger town of Huescar is just 7kms further on from Galera. Market day is Thursday. There is a wider selection of shops, bars and restaurants with beautiful narrow streets and a lovely square to walk around.
The town of Orce with it's old Castle is approx. 8 kms away. An easy 37 km drive will take you to the Natural Park of Maria, with it's stunning forests and mountains. There are also campsite and picnic areas.
Around 20 kms in the opposite direction from Galera is Cullar - another town that is well worth a visit.
The City of Baza is around a 30 min drive from here, with all usual amenities. There is a large Car Boot Sale there on Sundays.
